My name is Sarah Govett and I’m an author and screenwriter.

I’m also the YA author of The Territory trilogy, The India Smythe series and We Go On Forever.

I didn’t always think I’d be a writer. I originally read Law at Trinity College, Oxford and then qualified as a solicitor in the City. It didn’t suit me so I left and then spent a year doing ridiculous things – a sort of late onset teenage rebellion. I modelled, I designed and sold T-shirts (Katie Price actually wore one on the front cover of OK! Magazine to celebrate her engagement to Peter Andre) and I sold my paintings in bars. Then I became more sensible again and set up a tutoring agency, helpings kids prepare for exams.While I was doing this, I got the idea for my first book, The Territory, but had no time to write it. The opportunity came with the birth of my daughter. I knew I was going to take 6 months off work so, while she slept, I wrote, and I loved it. I haven’t looked back!
